Mandela Millers Receives ISO: 22000 Certification for Food Safety and Quality
Mandela Millers, a prominent subsidiary of the Mandela Group of Companies, has achieved a significant milestone by receiving a prestigious food safety and quality certification from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS).
The ISO: 22000 certification recognizes Mandela Millers' commitment to maintaining stringent protocols across all its food production processes, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
The official certification ceremony took place at the Mandela Miller headquarters in Busega, Kampala, where Patricia Ejalu, the deputy executive director of standards at UNBS, commended the company for its dedication to consumer welfare.
Speaking to journalists, Ejalu emphasized that the ISO: 22000 certification signifies Mandela Millers' implementation of rigorous security measures to safeguard consumers throughout the entire food processing system.
Samuel Musyoka, Director of Quality Assurance at Mandela Millers, proudly showcased the ISO certificate, highlighting the company's pioneering achievement in the flour milling industry.
Musyoka explained that obtaining the certification required unwavering commitment, hard work, meticulous record-keeping, and strict adherence to the ISO: 22000 standard.
The certification process involved comprehensive assessments of Mandela Millers' food production practices, from sourcing raw materials to packaging and shipping.
Musyoka emphasized that every stage of the process undergoes thorough evaluation to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring the safety and quality of the final products.
Established in 2018, Mandela Millers has quickly emerged as a leading wheat and corn milling company in Uganda.
The company's diverse product range includes eight products derived from wheat and corn, with its flagship product being the Supreme Flour for Home Baking.
Ahmed Omar Mandela, the visionary founder of the Mandela Group of Companies, received the ISO certificate from Patricia Bageine Ejalu, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of UNBS.
