Ugandan Forward Abdu Lumala Signs with Slaven Belupo in Croatian League
Ugandan forward Abdu Lumala has officially joined Slaven Belupo, bringing his talents to the Croatian league.
With an impressive resume that includes stints with several Swedish clubs and appearances for the Uganda national team, Lumala is poised to make a notable impact on the Croatian football scene.
Born on July 21, 1997, Lumala has built a reputation as a dynamic attacker with a knack for finding the back of the net.
His journey to Slaven Belupo has seen him ply his trade with clubs such as Kalmar, Varbergs, Varnamo, Helsingborgs, and Syrianska in Sweden, as well as Egypt's Pyramids and Uganda's Vipers.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Lumala emphasized his eagerness to compete in the highly competitive Croatian league.
"I can't wait to play in the Croatian league, which I know is extremely competitive and challenging," said Lumala.
"When you know that Luka Modrić started his journey here, you know you're in a good league."
Having already spent three weeks in Koprivnica, Lumala is confident in his ability to adapt quickly to his new surroundings.
"I've been in Koprivnica for three weeks already, played some friendly matches, so I won't have any problems adapting," he stated.
"I'd like to thank the guys in the locker room who have been excellent and who have really helped me feel at home in these 20-odd days."
