CTC Conservation Center Contributes to the Ekyoto Ha Mpango Coronation Ceremony
The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities received a generous contribution from the CTC Conservation Center, further strengthening the relationship between conservation efforts and Uganda’s cultural heritage.
The donation, intended for the Ekyoto Ha Mpango Coronation ceremony, was received by Hon. Tom Butime, Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, in a ceremony graced by Hon. Alex Ruhunda, Member of Parliament for Fort Portal City.
Mr. Thomas Price, founder of CTC Conservation Center, expressed profound appreciation for His Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Rukidi IV of Tooro and his steadfast commitment to conservation.
King Oyo’s regular visits to the CTC Conservation Center in Butambala have greatly boosted efforts to preserve Uganda’s biodiversity and promote sustainable environmental practices.
This collaboration signifies a key alignment between the royal leadership and conservation efforts aimed at protecting Uganda’s natural wealth.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Price emphasized the pivotal role King Oyo has played in supporting CTC’s conservation mission.
“King Oyo’s dedication to environmental stewardship has been invaluable to the work we are doing at the center. This contribution towards the coronation is a way for us to honor his leadership and the cultural significance of the Tooro Kingdom,” Price noted.
Hon. Tom Butime praised the CTC Conservation Center for its ongoing efforts in conservation and its strong partnership with the Kingdom of Tooro.
“This collaboration is not just about supporting the coronation ceremony; it’s about promoting Uganda’s rich cultural and natural heritage. Sustainable tourism and conservation go hand in hand, and partnerships like this are crucial to our national development,” he said.
