Equity Bank Empowers 110 Scholars through Equity Leaders Program

Equity Bank Uganda has selected 110 outstanding students from the 2023 Uganda National Examination Advanced Certificate of Education to participate in its esteemed Equity Leaders Program.

This brings the total number of beneficiaries under the program to an impressive 333 students.

Now in its third cohort, the Equity Leaders Program is designed to provide access to education, mentorship, and career training to academically gifted scholars.

The program aims to empower these young leaders to make a positive impact on their communities and beyond.

The selected students were warmly welcomed to the African Bible University in Lubowa for a week-long induction program.

During the induction, scholars had the opportunity to engage with leaders from various industries, including Equity Bank leadership, on topics such as personal development, community engagement, and professional growth.

Anthony Kituuka, the Managing Director of Equity Bank, officially unveiled the bootcamp on Monday morning, extending a warm welcome to the 110 students.

He emphasized the importance of education and mentorship in shaping future leaders and shared words of wisdom with the eager participants.

Kituuka also highlighted the core values that define Equity Bank, including integrity, teamwork, and respect.

Established by the Equity Group Foundation (EGF) in 1998, the Equity Leaders Program aims to nurture scholars with excellent leadership skills and establish a community of dynamic and transformational leaders.

The program envisions these leaders working together across borders and sectors to drive sustainable economic growth and create a positive social impact on the African continent.

In addition to the induction program, the Equity Leaders Program offers a Pre-University paid internship and a College Counselling program, providing scholars with valuable practical experience and guidance as they pursue their academic and professional endeavors.

Partnering with prestigious universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, Yale, Harvard University, Princeton University, Cornell University, Brown University, and Columbia University, Equity Group is committed to providing scholars with access to world-class education and opportunities for growth and development.
