Today, the Sir Edward Mutesa II Museum has been officially opened.

This momentous occasion was graced by esteemed guests including Chief Guest Nnalinya Agnes Nabaloga and Buganda Premier Charles Peter Mayiga.

The museum, located at Makerere University on Quarry Road, Plot 95, is a tribute to the enduring legacy of Sir Edward Muteesa II, the 35th Kabaka of Buganda and the first President of Uganda.

Sir Edward Muteesa II, an alumnus of Makerere University, resided in the very house that now houses the museum during his years as a Literature student from 1943 to 1945.

Opening the museum highly rates preserving the cultural heritage and historical significance of this revered figure and his ties to Makerere University.
