'Stop misbehaving or lose everything ' - Minister Aceng to Medical interns on strike
The minister also reminded the medical interns that internship is a training period and they stand to lose if they don't go through this medical practice.
The Minister for Health Dr. Ruth Aceng has advised the medical interns who are on strike to stop miss behaving because the Govt has already promised to meet their demands as the supplementary budget is in pipeline to be paid in a weeks time to their accounts.
The minister also reminded the medical interns that internship is a training period and they stand to lose if they don't go through this medical practice.
'This helps the medical interns to get registered as medical personnel if not this will delay their registration and it is up to them to take their decision and as a Ministry we lose nothing on this matter' - Aceng added.
According to the Ministry of health, the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni through the Uganda Medical Association , he committed to addressing their problems, "I therefore ask the striking medical interns to listen to their Association because it has more bargaining power than individuals''.
On the same note Minister Dr Jane Aceng said all their promises were put in writing by the Prime Minister.
According to the minister , this act considering the current Covid 19 situation in the country has disrupted access to medical services .
