Former MP Mubarak Munyagwa Remanded To Luzira Prison Over Land Fraud

Former Kawempe South member of Parliament, Mubarak Munyagwa commonly known as “mugaati gwa bata” has been remanded to Luzira prison until 12th June 2023
Munyagwa alongside for others were arraigned before the Kajjansi Chief Magistrates Court on charges of Criminal Trespass, Malicious Damage and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
The state house anti-corruption unit say he connived with a one Sekitoleko and falsified a land sale agreement.
“Munyagwa connivied with one Isa Sekitoleko and falsified a sale agreement showing he had purchased a kibanja of 3 acres located in Mutungo cell, Kajjansi Town Council yet Isa had no such interest.” The statement read in part.
“He went ahead to grade the land destroying crops on the land, portioned it into plots yet the land the land is titled in the names of Dechomai Asset Trust Number Three LCC, a registered company. They are remanded till 12th June 2023.” Read the statement.
Munyagwa lost the 2021 Kawempe South seat to Journalist Bashir Kazibwe of the National Unity Platform-NUP.
