Namibian Delegation Benchmarks Uganda's ICT Innovations: Focus on E-Learning, Licensing, and Public WiFi
The Parliament of Uganda is currently hosting the Standing Committee on ICT and Innovation from the National Assembly of Namibia.
The visit, which runs from July 15 to 19, 2024, aims to benchmark best practices in e-learning, licensing, regulation, and the provision of public WiFi.
Today, a pivotal meeting was held with the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance (MoICT&NG), where representatives from three key agencies under the ministry presented their expertise and achievements.
The Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) showcased advancements in e-learning, while the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) and the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) provided insights into regulations, licensing, and public WiFi provision.
The engagement, held at the National ICT Innovation Hub located at the Uganda Institute of ICT, was officiated by Dr. Christopher Baryomunsi, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance.
The Namibian delegation expressed keen interest in Uganda’s strategies and implementations, which have significantly boosted ICT accessibility and innovation in the country.
