Twitter disclosed that upto 3,465 accounts globally that have links to to state operations were deleted.

 Twitter has finally let the cat out of the bag by confirming to deleting upto 418 accounts allegedly engaged in coordinated inauthentic activity in support of President Yoweri Museveni and his party, National Resistance Movement (NRM).

In a statement released today, 2nd December 2021, Twitter disclosed that upto 3,465 accounts globally that have links to to state operations were deleted.

Six countries including Mexico, the People's Republic of China (PRC), Russia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Venezuela, were affected . Twitter further deleted all content associated with the alleged  operations

In neighboring Tanzania a network of 268 accounts that allegedly filed bad faith reports on Twitter, targeting members and supporters of FichuaTanzania and its founder were deleted.

‘We believe we have a responsibility to protect the integrity of the public conversation and to offer meaningful transparency into our findings’ Twitter said defending their decision.
