Drunk truck driver hits CDF Mbadi’s convoy
Investigations have kicked off to establish circumstances under which the Chief of Defence Forces Wilson Mbasu Mbadi’s convoy was rammed into.
The army mouth piece Brig. Felix Kulayigye in a statement noted that the CDF’s convoy was hit in the late hours of the night when the CDF was coming from a meeting in Mbuya.
“At around 1130 last night while coming from a meeting in Mbuya, a lorry driver circumvented CDF's lead car with its lights and GB siren on and headed for the principle's car which he hit.” The statement read in part.
Kulayigye notes that Soldiers opened fire deflating the attacking or aggressive lorry.
He said that they arrested the driver, examined him and found out that he was drunk up to 89% and will be arraigned before court.
“On examination, the driver was drunk up to 89%. He will be arraigned in court. We salute the security team for doing their work.” He said.
A few months ago, a similar occurance happened on the President’s motorcade when a boda boda rider rammed into it causing harm to 3 people.
