Military changes: First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba appointed Chief of Defence Forces

The President of the Republic of Uganda and Commander in Chief of the UPDF has appointed his son, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba as the new Chief of Defence Forces.
He replaces Gen. Wilson Mbadi who has been appointed Minister of state for trade in tgr ministry of trade and cooperatives.
The appointments of Generals and senior officers are as follows:
- Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi appointed minister of state for trade in the ministry of trade and cooperatives.
- Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba appointed the Chief of Defence Forces
- Lt Gen Peter Elwelu appointed Senior Presidential Advisor
- Lt Gen Samuel Okiding appointed Deputy Chief of Defence Forces
- Maj Gen Leopold Eric Kyanda appointed Defence attaché
- Maj Gen Jackson Bakasumba appointed Joint Chief of Staff
- Brig Gen David Mugisha promoted to major General
- Col Asaph Nyakyikuru promoted to Brigadier General
