Ministry launches Domestic tourism campaign to the northern part of uganda.

In a bid to revive the tourism sector and encourage local exploration, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities in Uganda has launched the #ExploreNorth domestic tourism campaign. With a focus on showcasing the unique wonders of the northern region, this campaign aims to inspire Ugandans to take pride in their country and experience its beauty firsthand.

Recognizing the importance of domestic tourism, Daniel Irunga, a Uganda Tourism Board official, emphasized the need for Ugandans to explore their own country. The Explore North campaign follows the successful Explore West and Explore Elgon campaigns, all aimed at encouraging locals to discover the beauty within their borders. These initiatives have been crucial in learning from the lessons of the COVID-19 pandemic and revitalizing Uganda's economy.

Hon Martin Mugarra, the state minister for the Tourism, expressed gratitude to sector players for their efforts in making these campaigns successful. The Uganda Wildlife Education Center and Uganda Wildlife Authority have already seen an increase in the number of visitors, with a significant portion being Ugandans themselves. The Explore North campaign is expected to play a vital role in achieving the target of 100% tourism sector recovery by 2024.

To amplify the campaign's reach, the Minister aligned influential personalities to promote the #ExploreNorth initiative. Renowned singer Jose Chameleone, comedian Teacher Mpamire, kickboxer Moses Golola, and tourism queens have joined forces to encourage and inspire fellow Ugandans. Their involvement will undoubtedly spark curiosity and enthusiasm among potential travelers.

The campaign promises an unforgettable journey through some of Northern Uganda's most remarkable destinations. Travelers embarking on this adventure will encounter a diverse range of attractions, including:
