Makerere University Launches MAKDATA System to Harness data-driven Insights

Minister of State for Planning, Amos Lugoloobi, hailed the launch of the Data Management System, MAKDATA, at Makerere University as a significant step towards embracing technological advancements and maintaining academic leadership.

In his address at the launch event, Minister Lugoloobi emphasized MAKDATA's potential to enhance research, academic excellence, and contribute to Uganda's socio-economic development.

"I have no doubt that it will serve as a valuable resource for advancing research, driving academic excellence, and ultimately contributing to the social and economic development of the nation," he stated.

Highlighting the importance of data, Minister Lugoloobi underscored its role in informed decision-making, providing crucial insights for strategic planning, resource allocation, and policy development.

Lugoloobi urged all Ugandans to actively participate in the upcoming National Population and Housing Census scheduled for May 2024.

Encouraging widespread participation, he emphasized the significance of accurate demographic data in shaping national development policies and programs.
