Information from the Vatican news agency indicates that the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis is currently doing well after surgery. The church leader was scheduled for surgery for diverticular stenosis of the colon at Agostino Gemelli Hospital.
This website has learned that the surgical operation Pope Francis underwent on Sunday 5th July is now over and successful, according to the director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni.
As of now, Pope Francis is doing well after surgery the Sunday evening surgery.
The Holy Father reacted well to the surgery done under general anesthesia and performed by Prof. Sergio Alfieri, assisted by Prof. Luigi Sofo, Dr. Antonio Tortorelli and Dr. Roberta Megnhi.
