President Museveni Honors Brave Man for Apprehending Assailants Responsible for Killing Ndigga Clan Head

In a solemn ceremony held at State House Entebbe during a cabinet meeting today, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni, bestowed upon Mr. Abdul Katabaazi the prestigious Nalubaale Medal.

The Nalubaale Medal, a symbol of honor and valor, is conferred by H.E. The President of the Republic of Uganda to civilian activists who have made significant contributions to the political advancement of Uganda, whether through armed resistance or civil disobedience, as outlined in section 3 of the National Honors and Awards Act of 2001, as amended.

Mr. Katabaazi, a dedicated plumber and motorcycle rider residing in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division, was honored for his courageous act in apprehending the assailants responsible for the tragic murder of Eng. Daniel Bbosa, the esteemed leader of Buganda Kingdom's Endiga Clan, on Sunday, February 25th, 2024.

Eng. Bbosa, a venerable figure at the age of 72, served as the director of Transa Electrical and was fatally shot in his car as he neared his residence in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division.

During the solemn occasion, Mr. Katabaazi recounted to President Museveni the harrowing ordeal and shared how, with the assistance of fellow boda boda riders, he relentlessly pursued and apprehended the perpetrators.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Katabaazi conveyed, "Thank you, Your Excellency, the President of Uganda, for bestowing this medal upon me and affording me the opportunity to meet you."

President Museveni lauded Mr. Katabaazi for his exemplary bravery and commitment to upholding justice.

"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you; your valorous actions exemplify heroism. You now stand as a proud defender of our nation, akin to the bush war fighters like myself," remarked President Museveni.

In a gesture of appreciation for the collective efforts of the boda boda community, President Museveni pledged to extend recognition and support to other motorcycle riders who played a pivotal role in the apprehension of the assailants.

The ceremony not only celebrated individual courage but also underscored the collective spirit of Ugandans in safeguarding the nation's peace and stability. Mr. Katabaazi's selfless act stands as a testament to the unwavering resolve of ordinary citizens to uphold justice and defend the principles of unity and security in Uganda.
