Tourists killed, Car Burnt by Suspected ADF Rebels in Kasese

Ugandans are in shock after news erupted on various social media platforms about an attack on tourists by suspected ADF Rebels in queen Elizabeth National Park, Kasese district.

Uganda Police, Uganda Wildlife Authority and UPDF have confirmed two American tourists were killed and one Ugandan who was their driver attached to Gorilla wildlife safaris

The UPDF spokesperson Felix Kulayigye noted that the tragic incident happened at around 6pm on Katwe Road in Kasese where the two tourists and the Ugandan driver were killed by suspected ADF Rebels and left the car they were travelling in burnt 

"Our security teams are currently pursuing suspected ADF Rebels who killed tourists. We will provide an update in due course."

According to Uganda WildLife Authority's spokesperson, Bashir Hangi; "unidentified assailants have burned a tourist's car and killed them in Queen Elizabeth National Park along Katwe Road."

Police spokesman Fred Enanga noted that; "We have registered a cowardly terrorist attack on two foreign tourists and a Ugandan in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The three were killed, and their safari vehicle burnt."

"Our joint forces responded immediately upon receiving the information and are aggressively pursuing the suspected ADF rebels. We express our deepest condolences to the families of the victims." Enanga said.

This incident comes at a time when suspected ADF rebels killed two people who were driving cargo into the country and their car and merchandise burnt.
