Kitara Secures Spot in Stanbic Uganda Cup Finals, Set to Face NEC FC
In a thrilling encounter, Kitara FC clinched a spot in the finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after completing a double over Pajule Lions.
Brian Aheebwa's 15th-minute goal sealed the victory away from home, securing a 4-1 aggregate win for the Royals, who had previously triumphed 3-1 in the reverse fixture in Masindi.
The victory propels Kitara FC into the finals, where they will face NEC FC.
This historic final, scheduled for May 25th, marks the first time two clubs promoted to the premier league in the same season will compete for the coveted cup title.
Kitara FC's impressive performance not only solidifies their place in the cup finals but also keeps them in contention for a league and cup double, as they trail leaders BUL FC by just one point in the premier league standings.
Meanwhile, BUL FC, currently topping the premier league table, showcased their dominance with a remarkable victory over champions Vipers on Wednesday last week a game hosted at the Namboole stadium.
The venue for the final will be announced by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) in the coming weeks,
