SFC Soldier Arrested for Fatal Shooting in Mayuge District

Private Birivumbuka Herbertson Robert, a soldier attached to the Special Forces Command (SFC), allegedly shot and killed four close family members in Namale village, Kabayingire parish, Buwaya sub-county.
The victims were reportedly shot dead, and several others were injured.
The suspect escaped from his post and committed the crime before attempting to return unnoticed.
However, his unit had already detected his absence, leading to his immediate arrest upon his return.
Maj Sam Omara, the SFC spokesperson, confirmed the arrest and emphasized the importance of community cooperation with investigators to ensure justice is served swiftly.
Pte Birivumbuka is currently detained at the SFC facility, awaiting legal proceedings
