Tabebuia Spa and Safari Resort: Where Wellness Meets Eco-Sustainability

Located along the serene shores of Lake Nyabikere in Kabarole district just next to the Tourism city (Fortportal), Tabebuia Spa and Safari Resort is redefining luxury with a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and eco-sustainability.
Over the weekend, my workmates and I had the pleasure of experiencing this hidden gem during a team-building retreat, and from the moment we arrived, it was evident why the resort recently won the Best New Eco Lodge award at the Ekkula Sustainable Tourism Awards 2024.

After the long journey, exhaustion weighed on us, but the hospitality at Tabebuia was nothing short of refreshing. We were warmly welcomed by the on-duty manager and her team, served chilled glasses of melon juice.
After a quick briefing, we were guided to our cottages, a space that exuded both comfort and elegance. Everything was neatly arranged, the atmosphere was inviting, and every detail seemed carefully curated. The cozy bed, adorned with freshly laundered sheets, promised a restful night, while the fireplace added a warm, rustic charm, perfect for combating the evening chill.

After a refreshing warm shower, we gathered for dinner, where we indulged in a three-course fine dining experience. The meal was expertly prepared and presented.
Waking up early to catch the sunrise, I was greeted by a breathtaking golden glow that reflected over the lake as I sipped on a steaming cup of rich Ugandan coffee.

The chirping birds from the surrounding trees created a soothing melody, while fishermen could be seen laying their nets in the waters of Lake Nyabikere.
Every detail of the resort echoes an eco-friendly ethos. Plastic waste is completely absent—instead of disposable bottles, drinking water is served in glass bottles, and there are no polythene bags in sight.
The beautifully crafted cottages showcase eco-friendly architecture. The surrounding greenery and lake view complement the design, promoting harmony with nature while offering a serene escape.
Guests are encouraged to explore the nearby areas using electric-powered bicycles, even the hotel sandals are crafted from leather.
For those looking to unwind, the wellness spa should be at the top of every visitor’s agenda. Expert therapists deliver a curated range of rejuvenating treatments, ensuring guests leave feeling completely renewed.
Adventure seekers are not left out either. The infinity pool offers a 360-panoramic view of the lake, making for a perfect spot to unwind.

Birdwatching is another highlight, as the resort’s lush surroundings attract a variety of rare and colorful bird species, making it a paradise for nature lovers.
One of the personal highlights of my stay was the impeccable service from Carol and Eddy, whose professionalism and warmth made our experience even more memorable. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to the already outstanding hospitality at the resort.
