ATEI holds successful 2nd Edition of Wildlife Concert in Kyenjojo district
The Africa Tourism and Environment Initiatives (ATEI) held a successful 2nd Edition of the Wildlife concert in Kyenjojo district.
The concert held on the eve of the International Wildlife Day that happens every 3rd of March was headlined by none other than BET Award winner, Eddy Kenzo.
Uganda joined the world in celebrating World Wildlife Day under the theme: “Connecting people and planet, Exploring Digital Innovations in Wildlife Conservation”
The Wildlife concert was among the buildup activities to Wildlife Day celebrations that were also held in Kyenjojo district.
The Rt. Hon. Prime minister of Uganda, Robinah Nabbanja represented the President, Yoweri Museveni as the guest of honor
Valerian, a Ranger from UWA performing his debut song fallen rangers.
The concert drew an impressive crowd of over 1,600 attendees all fervently dedicated to the cause of wildlife conservation and a shared mission of preserving our natural heritage.
The electrifying performance by Eddy Kenzo not only enthralled the audience but also served as a catalyst for inspiration and advocacy.
Onstage, amidst the pulsating energy of the crowd, Eddy Kenzo passionately implored his supporters to become active partners in conservation efforts, urging them to champion the cause and be stewards of the environment.
It was barely 4 months since the inaugural edition was held at the national theatre on the 9th December 2023. The debut concert featured prominent artists, including vocalist Naava Grey and cultural artist Irene Namutamba.
Notably, the proceeds from this inaugural event were directed towards the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary, ensuring the 53 resident chimps experienced a memorable Christmas.

Notably, proceeds generated from this 2nd edition will be earmarked for initiatives aimed at raising awareness about conservation and fostering a deeper appreciation for wildlife preservation.
Bismac Moses Amumpaire, the Executive Director of ATEI, emphasized the primary objective behind the Wildlife Concerts which is to foster conservation awareness among diverse audiences.
"These concerts serve as a powerful platforms to bridge the gap between conservation initiatives and the general public, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for wildlife preservation."
He specifically highlighted one of the organization's initiatives, urging individuals to actively participate in tree planting efforts while also encouraging them to personalize their trees by giving them pet names named Pet-A-Tree.This campaign aims to engage the public in tangible conservation actions while promoting a deeper connection to nature.
The concert was supported by Uganda Wildlife Authority, Kikorongo Safari Lodge, CTC Conservation Center and organised by Brand Ambassadors 256.
