Former Presidential Candidate Bobi Wine encourages children to embrace education as he supports a section with scholastic materials

Monday 10th January is a special day for school going children and their parents as schools in Uganda reopen for term 1 after two years of closure due to Covid19.

The President of the National Unity Platform  Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu commonly known as Bobi Wine  spent the last day of children’s long holiday with children, parents and guardians of  party comrades in detention, those missing and those that have passed on.

The one time presidential contender, while at his residence in Magere Wakiso district, supported the children with some scholastic materials that included toilet paper, Jerrycans, basins and shared lunch with the children and parents.

According to Bobi, Bobi Wine these are children of the late Yasin Kawuma, Ritah Nabukenya and Dan Kyeyune  and other NUP members like Moses Kawenja, John Damulira .

In his speech, Bobi Wine thanked the parents and guardians for the great work consistently done in taking care of the children amidst the challenging period of Covid19 pandemic and also implored the children to go back to school and concentrate on studies.

Work very hard to see that you make your parents proud” he added emphasizing the impact of Education on the future of these young souls.

The Education and Sports Ministry in Uganda issued a school road map at the end of last year amidst the pandemic that brought the whole world at standstill.

Schools in Uganda are resuming on Monday 10th January 2022 after close to two years of closure due to the pandemic that evaded the country in March of 2020.

Yasin Kawuma was Bobi Wine’s driver  was killed in a contested by-election in Arua Northern Uganda in 2018 that also involved imposing criminal charges to Bobi Wine who was then a Member of Parliament for Kyadondo East constituency.
