Uganda is preparing to make history on the global stage as Miss Musimneta Parton, the reigning Miss Ability Uganda, readies herself to represent the country at the renowned International Deaf Cultural & Arts Festival and Miss & Mister Deaf International 2025.

The festival, set to take place from October 19th to 27th in Genoa, Italy, will gather some of the world’s most inspiring individuals from the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, celebrating their culture, artistry, and leadership under the theme “Promoting Cultural Diversity Awareness.”

For Uganda, Ms. Parton’s journey is a powerful symbol of progress and inclusion. Over the past years, the Miss Ability Uganda platform has been instrumental in showcasing the leadership, creativity, and potential of persons with disabilities, providing them with a voice in national and global spaces.

Yet, the platform has faced challenges, having paused its signature Mr. and Miss Ability Uganda crowning event for two years. Ms. Parton’s invitation offers a chance to restore its momentum as well as elevating Uganda’s image as a country that champions diversity and empowerment.

Ms. Parton, known for her charisma, determination, and advocacy, will carry Uganda’s flag with pride. “This opportunity belongs to every Ugandan with a unique ability,” she notes.

“I want the world to see that we, too, have dreams, talent, and leadership worth celebrating.” She adds.

Her participation comes at a crucial moment, as preparations are underway to relaunch the national pageant on November 28th, ahead of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with the theme “Empowering Unique Abilities: Amplifying Leadership for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future.”

The Ugandan government has already expressed its support, with the Minister of State for Youth Affairs committing to cover her return air ticket.

However, for her representation to be truly impactful, additional partnership support is being sought to cover key expenses such as cultural attire, competition outfits, training, promotional videos, and post-event outreach activities.

Organizers, led by Brand Ambassadors 256, believe this collaboration will ensure a strong Ugandan presence in Italy and also align with broader efforts to break barriers and foster inclusion in the country.

Upon her return, Ms. Parton plans to embark on a nationwide outreach tour, sharing her experience, inspiring fellow youth and persons with disabilities.

Bismac Amumpaire, National Director of Mr. & Miss Ability Uganda notes that; “We are sending a queen with a message that Uganda stands for diversity, empowerment, and equal opportunity.”

The call is now open to organizations, partners, and well-wishers to rally behind this milestone, ensuring that Uganda’s presence in Italy is deeply felt.
