JUST IN: Close to 200 students of Nakanyonyi SS have been rushed to hospitals over suspected food poisoning

A yet to be identified number of students have been rushed to different hospitals in Mukono district after developing stomach complications
The events unfolding are happening at Nakanyonyi Senior Secondary School in Mukono district.
It's alleged that the lunch meal that they had is believed to have been poisoned. Over 150 students lost their consciousness after the meal.
Samples of the food they ate have been taken to Government Analytical Laboratory in Kampala for testing as Police kickstarts investigations.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire through his official twitter account said that;
"Situation at Nakanyonyi Senior Secondary School in Mukono, is closely being monitored by police at Nagalama. Several students rushed to hospitals in the area due to severe stomach pains. Investigations underway to determine the cause."
