‘ Now that I am no longer Commander Land Forces, I will have more time to interact with you’ - General Muhoozi to the youth

Newly decorated UPDF General, Muhoozi Kainerugaba has assured his supporters that he will be available for them, unlike in the past when he was occupied with the army business.

Speaking at Bombo ground on Monday afternoon, shortly after receiving army insignia of a four-star general, a highest military rank in Uganda, Muhoozi thanked his father who is the Commander in Chief (CiC) for the promotion.

Justifying the promotion last week, Gen Yoweri Museveni said whereas Muhoozi had erred by tweeting about Kenya, he still trusted his capabilities as a soldier who will do more useful things in future.

Muhoozi was decorated by his wife Charlotte Kainerugaba and his uncle Gen Salim Saleh.

“Now that I am no longer Commander of Land Forces, that means I have more time to interact with you the youth,” Muhoozi said.

A huge section of the youth in Uganda refer to Muhoozi as “our generational leader” and have since asked Museveni to retire him so that he prepares to participate in the coming Presidential race.

Muhoozi who has many times hinted on Presidency, looks at the youth as his support base.

The youth constitute large percentage of the population in the country.

At the same event on Monday, Muhoozi handed over the CLF office to Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga.

Earlier, Kampala was brought to a full blast of Excitement as Supporters of Lt.Gen.Muhoozi Kainerugaba Joined the Leadership of Team Chairman MK Project to Escort the Former to Pipping Ceremony at Bombo Military Barracks.

Team Chairman MK Project, mobilised thousands of traders from within and outside Kampala Markets, Bodaboda Riders, Religious and Cultural leaders of all sections.
