UPPC Launches Digital Innovations and ESG Initiatives at Stakeholder Engagement Day

The Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) held the inaugural Stakeholder Engagement Day at Hotel Africana.

The event, themed "Enhancing Customer Loyalty Through Excellent Service Delivery," aimed to gather valuable feedback and showcase UPPC's diverse range of products, services, and latest innovations.

The engagement day was graced by esteemed guests including Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda, as the chief guest, and Hon. Milly Babalanda, Minister for Presidency. Key stakeholders from various Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), and the private sector were also in attendance.

Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja emphasized the importance of customer-centric service delivery, stating,

"In today's competitive market, open dialogues amongst stakeholders are crucial. UPPC's commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs sets a benchmark for excellence in our public services." She noted.

Hon. Milly Babalanda praised UPPC's recent ICT innovations aligned with Uganda's digital transformation roadmap. She acknowledged the corporation's strides in digitizing 80% of its services by 2026, facilitated by state-of-the-art technology acquisitions that have bolstered production capacity and reduced turnaround time.

The highlight of the event was the launch of UPPC's latest digital offerings by the Prime Minister:

  1. GovInfoHub: A digital platform aimed at bridging the information gap between the Government and the public, promoting accountability and transparency. 

  2. UPPC Service Portal: A comprehensive one-stop center for all UPPC services, including printing, publishing, and gazetting. 

  3. UPPC Online Bookshop: A convenient platform for the public to access legal and other UPPC publications.

  4. ESG and Sustainability Practices: UPPC’s commitment to environmental consciousness, supported by various programs that promote sustainability through best Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices 

UPPC unveiled a strategic partnership with the Uganda Chapter for Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives (UCCSRI).This collaboration underscores UPPC’s dedication to ESG and sustainability practices.

The partnership aims to advance sustainable business practices, promote environmental stewardship, and champion social responsibility within the printing and publishing industry. By working closely with UCCSRI, UPPC will implement initiatives that drive positive change, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a culture of sustainability.
